This interface provides a means to connect a BEI Sensors Intrinsically Safe encoder from a Hazardous Zone where explosive gasses may exist, to a safe zone where a controller and other electrical equipment usually resides. It accepts a 5 volt input from the encoder and it is powered with a voltage from 5 to 28 volts and provides a 5 volt regulated output in the safe zone.
